PROD 142 Poster (wip) and additional images of development

The design uses S-curve flow, radiating lines, strong contrast, and dynamic diagonals to create a visually striking composition that communicates motion, power, and excitement. The red lines over the image indicate the primary action lines that establish movement and rhythm. Directing attention towards the area of highest energy this being the explosion. This creates a sense of motion and drama. These lines work as visual pathways , pulling the viewer’s eye toward the bright focal point and then outward into the environment. This method not only emphasizes the explosion but also conveys a narrative moment of power. The explosion uses high-value contrast (bright yellows and whites against a muted background) to dominate the layout, ensuring it becomes the focal point. The character, rendered in darker tones, creates a strong silhouette that stands out against the glowing blast, maintaining focus. The character’s pose aligns with the main curve, complementing the outward expl...

Prod 142 Production bible reflection

Image
Overall, I am very happy with my final production bible, I feel like it conveys our ideas and design very clearly. While adding a twist to preexisting ideas such a venetian carnival which is a very large stand-alone theme. The bible is concise and provides a step by step walk through of our creative process and how we evolved into our final conceptual design. Providing reference where it is needed and showcasing my partners true design talents. Overall, I am very satisfied with our final character and vehicle, personally I think we could have explored the final color scheme differently and made it brighter and eye popping. Just because the overall final tones are quite dark and don't have the same eye-catching effect however the more earthy tones match our allocated themes better. The overall design of the character and vehicle I am very happy with, and I believe it is very unique regarding our own design spin we put on it such as a bird mask and matching feet.  The production para...

PROD 142 week 6 feedback

Image
After reading our feedback we decided not to go with the red and green combo as we both did agree it was suggesting Christmas. Aswell as to carry on with the more earthy tones as it connects to the fern element we wanted to incorporate in our designs.

PROD142 reflective journal

Recently I bought an iPad to further explore my knowledge of design platforms for this course and with this and the upcoming colour studies that needed to be done I explored many. I explored many different colour variations to fit not only our allocated themes but also the overall design of the character and vehicle. Problems I encountered was just overall layout on my chosen design app and trying to figure out where everything is and exporting files to my laptop to post on Blogger. which I easily figured out after a YouTube video. The overall aesthetic of our design so far is very much matching our allocated themes and is both a conjoined design me and my partner are very ecstatic about. Our colour scheme for our character and vehicle is mainly revolved around the chosen colours we have seen when exploring Venetian carnivals and the outfits worn during and has heavily influenced our design choices. Such as either very bright colours representing love and life or more moody earthy tone...
